Spuds

The Valley 6th grade class performed their annual community service project by gleaning potatoes from a local field after the harvester has done it's job. These potatoes are stored in a cellar until December. The class members then get the potatoes out of the cellar and bag them up to be given to families in our community during the Community Christmas Basket event. We want to give a special thank you to Larry Claar Farms for letting us come to a field they were digging in. Also, thank you to Grant & Hagan farms for letting us use a corner of their cellar to store the spuds.

Mrs. Clark & Mrs. Waltermeyer took the 6th graders out to the field on Sept. 19th and the students did a great job of filling buckets with great Idaho russets. This event helps students learn how to give back to our community and how to think of ways to help others. It is a wonderful experience for our staff & students and we are very proud to be a part of the Community Christmas Baskets.
